London, changes at Yeovil, etc.

Another new live date has been announced. The band will play Club Fandango at 229, Great Portland Street, London, on Friday 7th September. Tickets available online now at Ticketweb.

In other news, due to the closure of Yeovil’s Ski Lodge as a live music venue, BSP will now play at the Orange Box instead, on the same date – 21st September. Original tickets remain valid, and a number are still available from 0870 264 3333 or online via Ticketweb.

The band are also finalising a number of dates in both the UK and USA for October and November, ahead of the release of their third studio album, entitled Do You Like Rock Music.

Two new tour dates

British Sea Power have announced two new shows in September. The first will take place Yeovil Ski Lodge, Somerset, on Friday 21st September. Ski Lodge is, strangely enough, a ski lodge, and holds just 350 people. Tickets are on sale now via TicketWeb or the evil Seetickets.

On the following day, 22nd September, the band will play Bradford’s St. George’s Hall, a beautiful Victorian venue with a 750 capacity. Tickets can be purchased from Jumbo Records, Leeds (online or in person), or via the box office on 01274 432000.

Unfortunately, the previously announced LodeStar Festival, which BSP were due to play on 1st September, has been cancelled.

Recent news roundup

Crikey, is this thing still on? Er, so what’s been happening recently? The band played a fair few new songs on their August/September tour, including Lights Out For Darker Skies, Open The Atom and Open The Door. They’re now currently in a fort in the south west putting finishing touches to plenty more new songs, ready to fly over to Canada to record their third album in a few weeks.

They’ll be working with Arcade Fire collaborator/producer Howard Bilerman (who has also worked with Godspeed You! Black Emperor, the Dears and the Bell Orchestre) in his Montreal-based studio, Hotel2Tango. As a warm up for the recording sessions, BSP will also be playing a few dates in Canada. They are as follows:

Note: The band will no longer be playing the date in Toronto.
