Lincoln and Leeds fresher gigs

BSP will play Lincoln University on the 22nd September. The gig is part of fresher’s week, however it is also open to the non-educated public. Tickets can be bought online at Lincon Students’ Union. The band are also playing at Leeds Metropolitan University on the 26th, but See Tickets is listing the gig with “Over 18’s students only, ID will be required.” I’m not sure if this means students at Leeds Met or students in general. Can someone phone them up and check? I don’t like phones.

Radio 1 session tomorrow

A session, recorded on the 19th July, will be broadcast on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show tomorrow night (Wednesday 27th). The band recorded three songs which will be played between 7pm-9pm.

Update 27/07/05: Two tracks were played tonight (It Ended On An Oily Stage and How Will I Ever Find My Way Home?). A third and final track will be played on the show tomorrow.

Update 28/07/05: The song wasn’t played on today’s show… it’s now claimed it will be played on Monday. It better be.

Update 01/08/05: Zane Lowe is a liar. Never trust this man.

Update 02/08/05: Oh Larsen B was played tonight. Thanks Zane.

BSP on Isle Of Wight 2004 DVD

Rock In A from British Sea Power’s performance at last year’s Isle Of Wight Festival can be seen an a DVD (rather originally) entitled Isle Of Wight 2004, along with songs from 17 other bands, including The Electric Soft Parade, The Duke Spirit and Steve Harley. The track is rather amusingly credited as being called Stretch And Flex (as per the setlist on the day). The DVD can be bought from Amazon. Does anyone want to buy me a copy? I refuse to pay for something with The Ordinary Boys on.

French tour cancelled

BSP aren’t playing the scheduled 5-date tour of France, supporting The Kills, because the band have split up. Not really. They’re just tired. Other dates, including the tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland, are still going ahead as planned.
