BSP live in February

Here is a message from The Secretary, posted on the official forum:

Dear All,

We can now announce two shows that we are all very much looking forward to:

Friday 11 February High Rocks, near Tunbridge Wells.
Saturday 12 February Grasmere Village Hall.

Please note that tickets for these shows are NOT yet on sale. Tickets will be available very soon and you will be the first to know where.

High Rocks is a hotel, restaurant and venue just over a mile to the south-west of Tunbridge Wells in Kent. The concert venue is a delight, a sizeable Alpine-styled barn affair. More information is available at www.highrocks.co.uk.
Grasmere Village Hall is a beautiful little place nestling in the south of the Lake District.

More information will follow very shortly.

Yours,
The Secretary

Open Season for BSP?

Playlouder have an article about the 2nd album and says it will be called Open Season. Good choice, I reckon. It also claims a single will be released on the 7th March! I’m excited. Are you? {thanks watersonj}

Update: The title has now been confirmed.

Duran Duran: Best Live Band 2004?

British Sea Power are losing Best Live Band to Duran Duran in an Xfm poll. I think, for the sake of humanity, it is rather important that the Sea Power win this poll. So I urge you to vote. And then vote again (by deleting the www.xfm.co.uk cookie). And again, etc. Unfortunately I’m not sure when the poll ends.

April tour dates

A number of gig dates for next year have been added to ticket websites. See Tickets are selling tickets for Birmingham Carling Academy (7th April 2005) and Manchester Academy (10th April 2005), and UEA Tickets have them down to play Norwich Waterfront (11th April 2004). These have yet to be confirmed from a band source, but it seems unlikely that they are errors considering there are three of them! Just don’t blame me if they are wrong.
